BLACK PEOPLE, PLEASE, READ & HEED. POIGNANT..
The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts.. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked that Blacks don’t read.
Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on.
Please Note:
For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn’t hear it, this is very deep. This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian wrote it.

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.
Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.” We now live in the Information Age.. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide
solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all.
GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal.
Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).
Any of us can use them as o ur target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.
They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them “Status” or that they have achieved their Dream.
They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities. With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.
SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A “Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some “form” of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented
Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.
They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)
They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.
Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels…. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T
READ!!!!

“My Ghost” Intro. My very first animated sequence. @Staleface  - Birth of a Dynasty

Short-sighted Old Man and Ineffectual Ghost - Yoshitoshi’s comic series titled “Crazy Pictures of Famous Places in Tokyo” was published in 1881. These satirical images parodied life in modern Tokyo with scenes ranging from an octopus refusing to be sold at a fish market to physical mishaps on the street to encounters with ghosts and monsters. Watch for glimpses of the modernization taking place during the Meiji era, such as western dress or inventions like the camera and telescope. Like his full size prints, these designs are carefully drawn and printed with the same attention to detail. These witty and amusing scenes provide a comic look at contemporary life in Tokyo as designed by one of the great woodblock masters.

Chris Brown ft. Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne – Look At Me Now (VIDEO)

I don’t think there’s one silver bullet that will shoot you to the moon. Not being emotional and being able to call shit on yourself and on the people around you is really important. And not having to worry about tap-dancing or tiptoeing around people’s feelings. Just to be sober and say, “Look, this is how it really is.” I think having an environment that lends itself to that without everyone getting pissy is really important. That, coupled with being passionate and being able to distinguish between the shades of passion and emotion, because there is a distinction. Being passionate doesn’t give you license to be emotional.

LENT: PRAYER,REPENTANCE,ALMSGIVING,SELF-DENIAL

Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock. Lent originated in the very earliest days of the Church as a preparatory time for Easter, when the faithful rededicated themselves and when converts were instructed in the faith and prepared for baptism. By observing the forty days of Lent, the individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days.

Lent in the Christian tradition, is the period of the liturgical year leading up to Easter.Lent is a time of sacrifice for Jesus. The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer — through prayerrepentancealmsgiving (a religious rite which, in general, involves giving materially to another as an act of religious virtue), and self-denial — for the annual commemoration during Holy Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Alife Art Machine at The Hole

The Alife Art Machine is a collaborative art project produced by Alife and co-curated by Kathy Grayson of The Hole. It was made possible by the financial support of G-Shock. The Alife Art Machine is an art installation that displays and sells the art of over 50 artists and cultural contributors. A screen set atop the machine plays a video that informs viewers about alife and instructs buyers on how to use the machine, “Use the touchscreen interface below to make your selection.  Most major credit cards are accepted.”

Directed by Alife, the video was shot and produced by longtime collaborator Cliff “The Crystal Pharaoh” Cristofaro, the man behind most of Alife’s video releases, and includes minimal soundtrack tidbits kindly “loaned” by British musician and producer Jamie XX. The machine’s flat white body is reminiscent of a gallery’s stark white walls and the artists’ works are shot with an old polaroid camera using expired polaroid film (the film is no longer manufactured).

Aside from a nice white frame, the expired polaroid film produces images that have a unique quality. You see what’s in the box, but you don’t see it HD. You are left to imagine the actual product in high resolution and base your purchase on impulse, a gut feeling or a previous knowledge of the Artist’s work. The works are arranged by price and with the exception of the Tees, one work hides another completely different work. So what you see in front of you could be a one-time opportunity. At this time prices range from $25 to $1200. For more info visit –HERE.

LOWER GAS PRICES

THIS  IS NOT THE ‘DON’T BUY’ GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT  WILL SHOW YOU HOW  WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO    $1.30 PER  GALLON.

This  was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive.  It came from one of  his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton.  If you are  tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this  summer, take time to read this  please.

Phillip  Hollsworth offered this idea.

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and  it might go higher!!  Want gasoline prices to come  down?

We  need to take some intelligent, united  action. The  oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn’t  continue to “hurt” ourselves by refusing to buy  gas .

It  was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for  them. BUT, whoever  thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work.  Please read on and join with  us!

By  now you’re probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super  cheap.  Me too!  It is currently $3.08 at Arco and Costco  for regular unleaded in Salem, Oregon and climbing  every  week.

Now  that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to  think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we  need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the  marketplace..not sellers.

With  the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to  take action.

The  only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit  someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!  And, we  can do that WITHOUT hurting  ourselves.
How?  Since we all rely on our cars, we can’t just stop buying  gas.
But  we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here’s  the idea: For the rest of this year, DON’T purchase ANY gasoline from  the two biggest companies (which now are  one), EXXON and  MOBIL.

If  they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their  prices.  If they reduce their prices, the other companies will  have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and  Mobil gas buyers.  It’s really simple to do!  Now, don’t  wimp out on me at this point…keep reading and I’ll explain how  simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I  am sending this note to 30 people.  If each of us send it to at  least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) …  and those 300 send it to at  least ten more (300 x 10 =  3,000)… and  so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we  will have reached over THREE MILLION  consumers . If  those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,  then  30 million people will have been   contacted!

If  it goes one level further, you guessed it…..  THREE HUNDRED  MILLION  PEOPLE!!!

Again,  all you have to do is send this to 10 people.  That’s  all!

(If  you don’t understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to  do  is send this to 10 people….  Well, let’s face it, you just  aren’t a  mathematician.  But I am .  so trust me on this  one.

How  long would all that take?  If each of us sends this e-mail out to  ten more
people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people  could conceivably be
contacted within the next 8  days!

I’ll  bet you didn’t think you and I had that much potential, did  you!  Acting
together we  can make a difference.

You have only the rights you are willing to fight for!
